Duffy Lake

It is finally complete! ...and on the walls of the Zephyr Cafe in Squamish till the end of December. We are currently having a show with a collection of paintings from all the artists at Homebase Studios.

I stopped to take a photograph of the Duffy Lake with my friend Danielle, as we were heading to the Thompson river for a kayaking trip. On the way home I found out another friend Tyler was missing in the backcountry on a hiking trip and I had to face his death shortly after. Throughout the fall while painting this canvas, I've often thought about how pictures or music remind me of a memory in time. And how this beautiful mysterious scene, echoes to me of eternity. Its a little piece of heaven whispering here on earth...
